This imposing circular ceremonial silver salver stands out for its rich ornamentation and robust construction.

The design presents a band with geometric reserves (lattice panels) interspersed with rich floral and foliate motifs over a textured ground.

The composition is finished with a cast border of scalloped profile and deep relief, adorned with scrolls and shell motifs, giving the object a classic and sophisticated frame.

Although the maker is unidentified, the excellence of the workmanship reflects the mastery of Porto’s finest mid-20th-century silversmithing. History and authenticity define this example: it was manufactured from 1937 onwards.

It bears the 0.833 silver guarantee mark (Eagle), applied by the Porto Assay Office, certifying the authenticity and fineness of the precious metal.

With an exceptional weight of 910 grams and a diameter of 28 cm, this is a heavy-gauge piece, conveying a strong sense of value and solidity.
