Portuguese Silver Card Tray / Salver (Boar Hallmark) - Early 20th Century

We present a magnificent silver card tray, also known as a 3-footed salver, in Portuguese silver. It is a piece of undeniable elegance and great historical value. Its intricate and romantic design stands out in any collection.

Its round shape exhibits stunning workmanship with a pierced and profusely decorated rim. It features delicate floral motifs and sinuous embossed contours, chased by hand, and is supported by three elegant feet. The center of the salver presents a beautiful botanical engraving with a monogram, revealing a profound attention to detail. It constitutes an excellent example of fine Porto silversmithing from that era.

This precious item was crafted after 1887. 

The piece is properly hallmarked. It displays the famous "Boar II" (Javali) punch from the Porto Assay Office, which is the official guarantee mark for approximately 0.833 silver fineness. It also includes the respective maker's mark.

With a very pleasant and robust weight (225.6 grams), it reflects the nobility of materials from the past. It is an object that is simultaneously functional and highly decorative. Ideal for enriching classic decor or antique silver collections.
